Hard Romance: Hand-Forged Silver with a Bohemian Soul

These two statement necklaces explore the tension between romance and rebellion, transforming familiar symbols into pieces that feel raw, personal, and unmistakably handmade. Rather than conventional fine jewelry, the designs have the spirit of wearable sculpture, objects in which evidence of the artist’s hand becomes part of their beauty.

The first necklace reimagines the heart motif through elongated, irregular metal forms connected by oversized chain links. Suspended vertically, the three hearts create an almost talismanic silhouette. Their imperfect shapes keep the piece from becoming overly sweet; instead, the necklace suggests a tougher kind of romance, part bohemian amulet, part rock-and-roll armor.

The second design builds volume through repetition. Multiple strands of silver-toned chain connect hand-cut floral forms, producing a layered, draped construction reminiscent of both antique ceremonial jewelry and the hardware of punk fashion. The contrast between delicate flowers and industrial chain gives the piece its distinctive edge.

Central to both necklaces is the use of metal stamping. Instead of leaving the metal surfaces perfectly polished and anonymous, repeated stamped marks create intricate patterns across the handmade components. Cutting, piercing, stamping, linking, and assembling the individual elements turns flat metal into something richly textured and dimensional.

Small variations in the shapes, markings, and connections are not flaws; they reveal the process. That visible handwork separates these necklaces from mass-produced accessories. They occupy a more interesting territory: somewhere between jewelry, fashion, and miniature sculpture, romantic pieces made for someone who would rather wear her heart with a little hardware.
